How to set movements limitations

ATC movements limitations are put in place to ensure that the airfield is not overburdened with too much air traffic, which can lead to congestion, delays, and other safety hazards. By carefully managing and limiting the number of aircraft movements, ATC can help ensure that flights operate safely and efficiently at the airfield.

RedAtlas has the ability to limit the number of bookings within a specified time period e.g. 5 movements every 10 minutes. When this limit is exceeded, the system will block the creation of new bookings being created on an online PPR or Book-out public form. The system will display a warning when creating bookings within the ATC application bookings screen or the scheduled movements in the back office but will allow the user to ignore the warning. Movements entered directly into the ATC application movements screen are unaffected.

To configure a movement limitation in RedAtlas, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Admin > Common > Firm Settings

  2. Click on , at the top-left side of the screen.

  3. Click on the “Airfield” tab.

  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to “Limit scheduled bookings to:”.

  5. Enter the number of bookings in the “# bookings” field, and the frequency in minutes in the “minutes” field.
